Digital capability is more than just technical skill; it’s a pathway to self-determination.
Our strategic objective is to ensure that First Nations people—from our youth to our Rangers and Elders—have equitable access to the training, tools and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

A History of
Mob-led Training
In 2018, Australia hosted its first Indigenous Mapping Workshop, founded by Andrew Dowding through Winyama.
Over the following eight years, the program expanded, growing its reach and training capability with our current CEO, Kass Boladeras, while she worked as Winyama’s program manager.
Moving the program to Yarnda allows us to expand beyond geospatial training into broader areas of digital capability, including digital literacy, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and the advancement of existing geospatial training content.
Our Training Methodology
We’ve continued to design an evolving Indigenous Digital Skills Wellbeing Pedagogy that provides culturally-informed, community-centered, and trauma-aware, ensuring participants can engage safely and effectively while supporting overall wellbeing.
How we can help
Practical Training & Skills Development
National Workshops
Building on the success of the Indigenous Mapping Workshops (IMWs), we continue to bring together community members, Rangers and technical specialists from across the country.
These workshops create space to share knowledge, master new digital tools and strengthen the movement toward data sovereignty.
Regional Workshops
Our team brings years of experience delivering hands-on training to regional and remote communities throughout Australia.
These smaller-scale workshops provide a culturally safe environment to build confidence using digital and geospatial technologies on Country.
Youth Camps
We believe the next generation of Elders are also the digital leaders of tomorrow.
Through drones, AI, mapping and emerging technologies, we create engaging learning experiences that build confidence and remove technical anxiety.

Power Up Mob Program
The Power Up Mob Program helps bridge the digital gap by increasing access to essential technology and equipment within communities.
Through partnerships with corporate IT donors, we coordinate the distribution of high-quality refurbished laptops and devices to Indigenous communities, ensuring that a lack of tools never stands in the way of opportunity, learning or participation.
