Strong Nations • Even Stronger Horizons •
Access to the digital world is a fundamental right; it shapes how we navigate healthcare, banking, commerce, and self-determination. While data shows that First Nations people have been underrepresented in the technology sector, Yarnda Foundation sees this as a powerful moment.
We believe Mob have a massive opportunity to drive the digital economy from within their own communities, keeping both the economic and cultural rewards exactly where they belong: in Indigenous hands.
The Strong Horizons Career Program
The Strong Horizons Career Program builds directly on the meaning behind our name. Yarnda is a Ngarluma word for sun or sunrise, symbolising a fresh start and a clear path forward for the communities we walk alongside.
Our belief is that every participating Digital Professional arrives carrying their own light: their Country, their Culture, their Knowledge, and the power to build towards a horizon that is entirely their own. The program doesn’t ignite their flame, it recognises it and tends to it.
An 18-Month Pathway
Strong Horizons is a structured professional pathway designed to build genuine technical capability and workplace confidence through hands-on experience.
The program runs on an annual cycle starting in January/February:
The First 6 Weeks
An intensive, mandatory foundational learning experience hosted directly by Yarnda.
Ongoing Modules
Continuous professional growth through specialized pathways including Drones & Geospatial Tech, Coding, and Cloud/IT Infrastructure.
Industry Secondments
Putting skills into action through real-world projects, culminating in a definitive final portfolio project.
Seven Core Outcomes for Our Digital Professionals
